Aruba Bank announces restoration plans for historic building in “Caya Grandi”

Aruba Bank is proud to announce the restoration and revitalization of its iconic historic building located at Caya G.F. (Betico) Croes 39-41. The announcement was made during a special event attended by the Minister of Economic Affairs, Communication, and Sustainable Development, Geoffrey Wever; representatives of Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba (SMFA); Restauratiefonds and members of the press.
Speaking on behalf of Aruba Bank, Executive Director Marleen van der Borgt expressed the institution's excitement about the project, stating:
“Aruba Bank is deeply committed to preserving our cultural heritage and contributing to the revitalization of Oranjestad. As part of our 100-year anniversary celebration in 2025, we are honored to support the restoration of this historic building in collaboration with SMFA.” Together with Edseline Leer, head of Retail Banking, they officially hand over the building to Monumentenfonds.
Aruba Bank will continue its presence in the Mainstreet by establishing a new Self-Service branch in the building on the right side of the current Express Branch.” This modern facility will enhance service delivery to customers, underscoring Aruba Bank’s ongoing dedication to innovation and community.
