Aruba Bank helps Stichting Ambiente Feliz to continue caring for their residents

The current situation of COVID-19 puts financial pressure on all who depends on donations and subsidy from the Government for their services. This is also the case at Stichting Ambiente Feliz who depends on the subsidy from the Government for the daily operations in order to be able to serve all of the twenty (20) inhabitants who resides at the care center.

Aruba Bank has donated to the institute to safeguard the basic needs of the residents, such as food, hygiene products and personal care for the residents.

Stichting Ambiente Feliz was founded 31 years ago in 1986 by Sister Philothé Simons. Sister Simons and some other sisters took upon them to take care of a person with mental limitation in the Aruban community.
 
Due to a great need for a caring house, Sister Simons made it possible in 1986 to open a house at Santa Cruz 75 where the house was able to offer 12 clients a place to live which later on was named “Stichting Gezinsvervangend Tehuis”.

Since November 1997, the name was changed to “Stichting Ambiente Feliz”. During years, the amount of customer increased, and the original house was expanded to create more space for more residents.
