Aruba Bank supports the Women Conference 2020 platform

For the third consecutive year Aruba Bank was the main sponsor of the Women’s Conference, held this year on Sunday, March 8th, on International Women’s Day, at the Renaissance Convention Center. The event, led by the Prime Minister of the island, Mrs. Evelyn Wever-Croes, Esq., was attended by approximately nine hundred (900) local women.

This year’s theme was #EachforEqual which focuses on 'Collective Individualism', our individual actions, conversations, behaviors and mindsets that can have an impact on our larger society. Collectively, we can make change happen. Collectively, we can each help to create a gender equal world.

Mrs. Gina Habibe-Arendsz, Executive Director of Aruba Bank N.V. in charge of Business Banking and the island’s largest commercial bank’s cards division, was a guest panelist during the “Business session”. This section was facilitated by Ms. Amy Richards, local anchor woman, who focused on sharing best practices about maintaining a good work-life balance. Gina, who highlighted that she was the sole female in her household, amongst even the family pets, encouraged those present not to shy away from taking some personal time off. An avid runner herself, she highlighted the importance of exercising regularly, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Amongst the speakers of the day were, Mrs. Xiomara Maduro Esq., Minister of Finance, Prime Minister of Aruba, Ms. Marrit Gorter, local female pilot . A big pabien to all and may the event continue to inspire more and more women as it has done over the last three (3) years.
