Aruba Bank and Mastercard donate $50,000 to Red Cross Aruba

Aruba Bank and Mastercard have made a $50,000 donation to the Aruban Red Cross to continue supporting our community during the current pandemic.

There is a growing need among local families to afford food and as such seek assistance at foundations such as the Aruban Red Cross, which has served the Aruban community since 1957. Red Cross Aruba is affiliated with the Netherlands Red Cross, and therefore, also the International Federation of Red Cross & Red Crescent.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Red Cross Aruba has helped our community by:
• Delivering more than 82,000 hot meals.
• Helping 8200 family members.
• Giving e-vouchers to more than 20,500 people.
• Using 23.5 million florins in the financial aid program.

In December 2020, Aruba Bank together with Mastercard launched a campaign whereby they would contribute 1 cent (US) for each transaction made.
On February 17th, 2021 Mrs. Gina Habibe, Executive Director of Aruba Bank, made the symbolic donation to Mr. Michel La Haye, Director of Red Cross Aruba.
